Twenty-eight youth leaders from Northern and Central
Luzon proved their commitment towards a healthy nation as the Volunteer Youth
Leaders for Health (VYLH), together with the Newborn Screening Center-Central
Luzon, held its first North Luzon Chapter Meeting on November 19, 2011 at
Angeles University Foundation, Angeles City.
The event welcomed the new members and planned for the
organization’s activities for 2012. To get all members off to a good start, a
getting-to-know activity was included as part of the meeting. An introduction
and overview of the organization was also provided by Daniel Canlobo, VYLH
Vice-President for Luzon. Some Pioneer and K4 members were also present
to facilitate the activity.
Representatives from Regions 1, 2, 3, and CAR presented
their efforts and activities to promote Newborn Screening, Folic Acid
Supplementation, and support to rare diseases. The members per region then
brainstormed on their plan of activities for 2012.
